  Borough Fields is a paved path (not covered) which runs from the High Street to Sainsburys car park. It is permanently open and includes a small square with seating. There are some excellent independent shops and services in Borough Fields, and a few High Street brands. These include the library, Costa, Peacocks, a gift shop, Ducklings toy shop, a travel agent, a chemist, a dry cleaner, a Chinese restaurant, Oxfam, a vet, Marshall's bakery and more. The town's only public toilets are also in Borough Fields (recently taken over by the Town Council). It is always kept clean and tidy. My only regret is that this area is not more vibrant, especially in summer. The square would be suitable for tables and parasols, floral displays, and small events and markets. It would be lovely if Sainsburys, who control the site, were more flexible in this regard.
